Regulation - how to maintain it

The focus is on regulation, BEFORE dysregulation

We’ve all been there...in the middle of the supermarket, something upsets your child, reason unknown, the screaming and tears start, and you feel like everyone is judging your parenting skills. You just leave, with your upset child, feeling frustrated, anxious and perhaps a little angry yourself!

Maybe you’re anxious about leaving the house due to not knowing how your child is going to react? Will they stay calm? Are people going to judge you again if your child becomes upset? It’s such a difficult position to be in.

I have a lot of experience in supporting dysregulated children and have many strategies to help. What we NEED to focus on is to keep them regulated, BEFORE they become dysregulated and hit crisis point.

Introducing SENSORY SNACKS (and I’m not talking crisps here) is the key to this. I can work with your family to create a sensory snack box which will support regulation for your child, alongside a Zones of Regulation board. These are suitable for children of any age and are completely individual to them.
